Easy to find sign posted well. 1st impressions were good as we drove onto the site. There's a small shop and office which sells the essentials checking in was easy and we were given a map to show us our pitch. Lovely grass pitch with electric hook up if needed, lots of space, we had a campervan with a tent attached to the side and a windbreak all within our boundary. There's a small children's playground and wc's and a hot wash up station nearby to all pitches, but they are proper flushing wc's with hot and cold water, there's also a cold water wash up point which was close to our pitch. The shower blocks were very clean only 2 showers in each block and wc's which can also be used to change in, this was heated, there's also a free hair dryer in there. This is sited by the office. Lovely clean and tidy, nice and quiet there's no clubhouse on site, the Pub next door is now closed down but if you walk along the river further up to the Marina about a mile, there's a bar there that does food and looks over the marina with seating outside. Ideal for anyone who likes fishing as it’s on the river. All in all a nice quiet camp-site, if your looking for something lively then this wouldn't be for you, I loved it and will definitely be returning soon. Dogs are welcome.

Riverside is a well-run and organised site for static vans and tourers. Dogs (and cats) are welcome, we have taken both in our time, but yes dogs must be kept on a lead for everyone's sake and as a dog owner I go along with this. The setting is rural and quiet, but there is everything you need within a short car ride, and Southend is only about 20 minutes away. Best of both worlds I would say.

This site is a real gem. We visited as our 10 year old daughter wanted to go to Southend's Adventure Island for her birthday. We stayed three nights and loved it. The welcome was first class, the reception has a well-equipped shop (though only open 9-5) and the lady was really friendly. They have additional temporary toilets and washing up facilities in the touring/camping fields. The loos are portable loos, but have flushing loos, proper mains electric lights and hot and cold running water so were very good. The main toilet and shower block is near reception, a max 5 min walk from the furthest pitches, so really not that far. They were spotless all the time we were there. There is a kids play area which was good, nothing amazing but safe and well maintained. The pub was closed, but the Marina Bar is only a 5-10 min walk along the river path and was very nice and friendly. It would be lovely on a summer's evening, with a balcony overlooking the river The view of the river once you step out of the campsite is stunning, who said Essex isn't beautiful?! The only downside for us was that the ferry wasn't running, even though it was Easter hols. We had planned to go to Burnham by ferry so decided to drive instead - bad move, it took over an hour each way and wasn't worth the drive. Nice little town, but not worth a one hour drive! Check the ferry before you go! Southend was a 20 min drive, and the kids loved it. Wallasea Island is fascinating, it's owned by the RSPB and they are turning the east part of it into a wetland area for birds so once that's complete it will be really worth a visit, and this site will be the perfect place to stay.

Peaceful, static and mobile caravan site with camping fields as well. Clean and tidy site. Shower and toilet facilities clean. Fishing can be done in the manmade lake. Site feels well looked after ideal for children to run around small playground on site. Dogs allowed but must be kept on their leads.

What a lovely site! Staff are very friendly and helpful! We went in our Motorhome, my sister stayed in her tent and we were allowed to pitch up next to each other, which was great! If you are in a tent, you can even pitch up on the island! There were lots of ducks, swans and geese walking around, and we were asked to keep our dog on a lead at all times, this wasn't a problem for us. There is a river running through the site, with a few smaller streams running off of it, if you have young children you may want to keep an extra eye on them near these waterways. Fishing is permitted in the river, which kept my daughter and her friend (14 years old) and husband entertained for several hours! You need to buy a permit from the site office, which is really cheap and they didn't charge us for the children! You have to walk through the Static caravans to get to the gate at the back of the site, which leads to the Estuary and the short walk to the Essex Marina. Essex Marina has a very nice pub to visit, which also serves food and does a great breakfast. You can also access the Marina by road too. The toilets and showers are very clean, they have installed 2 more toilets and a washing up sink in the touring field, which was very handy. There is a small swing park, which the younger children seemed to enjoy. The nearest supermarket is in the village, a few minute drive away, and is pretty well stocked, although, you can buy a few basics on site. Overall, it is a really clean, friendly and pleasant site. We have been a couple of times now and will definitely be visiting again!

Absolutely love this site. It's home from home with the added addition of peace and tranquillity. Staff are helpful and friendly. Site is immaculately kept with access to the river crouch and beautiful views and walks a plenty. For boating/kayaks, the water is on tap as it is for fishermen, for nature/bird enthusiasts it's a little haven so you will need your camera. We can't wait for it to open again for the new season.

Lovely tranquil site and very clean, the only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because the lack of evening entertainment and bar, but if you want a quiet relaxing holiday then this is perfect. Lots of fishing in the sea one side or the lakes on the other and not too far away from main towns although you wouldn't think so when you're there.

An excellent campsite without doubt. Beautiful views and location, quiet and very well run. Outside toilets could be cleaned a little more regularly though. A small on-site shop (closes for lunch), no clubhouse. Boules on Sundays. Sheltered toilets generally well cleaned. CCTV everywhere which is great for safety and an assertive but kind manager who ensures well behaved clientele. Spent 5 years here on and off, loved it! Thank you.

Our sons half term holiday seemed to be different to most of the rest of the country this October! Not a child in sight for him to play with unfortunately, but that didn't stop us adventuring, and it was end of the season. We were the only ones on site camping with electric hook up. Lovely campsite though and friendly staff. The facilities were clean and good. We caught some lovely sun sets and had a peaceful stay. We will be back another time when the weather warms up. Thank you to the lovely lady in the on-site shop who helped me out with some hairspray.

I have had a static caravan on this park for 17 years and had a touring caravan here before that. It is a very friendly caravan park for over 55's with a small shop and reception. This site doesn't have a clubhouse however there are quite a few pus and restaurants within 5 miles (approx).

So lovely place. We are on our classic charity rally with one we run all over England. We pass lots of nice places including Snowdon and Wells. We just on our way back to home and come across this place. Lovely to stay for few days and chill. So nice site and quiet perfect to relax and forget about everything what's wise a stress in our live. Extremely recommended.

What an absolutely stunning place, I have just returned after a week camping. I can not think of a better place to visit. I have spoken to several people whilst here and they have all said they return every year. I will definitely be coming back here again.

We stayed for 2 nights to test out our new TT, this site was recommended by a family member we arrived Friday evening and was provided with a easy to follow map illustrating our exact pitch location. The campsite was well maintained and the grounds clean quiet and tranquil with lots of friendly campers. The ducks freely roaming the grounds provided much entrainment for my daughter, the swans however did became a concern they was a little hostile I nearly lost a toe! We were very impressed with how well the toilets were regularly cleaned even during heavy rain. Our daughter loved the park however its location being so close to a deep water river was a concern. On site facilities were good although the on-site shop was very limited. All in all we would definitely stay again and recommend.

What a lovely place to relax. We stayed 4 days mid-week. Nice quiet site very friendly people. Fishing was just £5 a day and well worth every penny. Even i caught 7 nice size carp. Never seen such healthy fish. Play park for children. Was a bit concerned that river and stream ran right through the park and children could easily fall in if not watched. Would recommend to anyone. Came home well chilled.

Very impressed with this site all together. We were shown to our pitch and told where all the facilities were. Toilets and showers were very very clean. Better than I was expecting. Site felt very quiet and tranquil set in lovely grounds with a stream running through. This was only the second time we have taken our folding caravan away. We have just bought our first 'proper' van so the main object of our one night stay was to photograph the folding van in order to sell it. There is a nice little pub within a very short distance. You can then look out over the River Crouch with a drink in your hand. We were told there are further pubs and restaurants a bit more of a walk away along this ridge. We didn't get as far as that, but we intend to go back again soon. The only possible drawn back I can see is if small children escape they could be drawn to the water which is very deep, around by the reception area. Forgot the little shop! Looked pretty well stocked with all your essentials. Watch the opening hours mind you! I don't think it's open on Sundays. All in all a great park, give it a try.

This site is only 27 miles from where I live and yet the difference in the surroundings is amazing. The quiet is the first thing you notice. We were on a pitch adjacent to the children’s play area and even though there were plenty of kids over the weekend we had a very peaceful stay. Although there are only 2 showers in the gents and the same for the ladies they were clean whenever I went there day or night. There are also washing machines and tumble driers behind the amenities block, but as we were only there for the weekend we did not use these. There is coarse fishing on site and the Crouch estuary is literally outside the back gate for the sea angler! All in all not a bad site, lots of wildlife, clean fresh air, lots of space for whatever size unit you are in and ducks, swans and geese wandering around the campsite all day. We really enjoyed it and will be back very soon.

This is the second time we have been here. We like it as a base in Essex for friends and family to visit us as we live in Norfolk. The site is fairly quiet and people are friendly. My partner loves fishing and I like walking so it's suits us both. The proximity of the River Crouch and Essex Marina is good. A very comfortable and relaxing site with very helpful staff.

We have been coming to this site 3 to 4 times a year for at least 10 years. It can get busy in summer and at weekends. Why? Because it’s very good. For adults there are at least 3 or 4 local pubs that do good food and also the Mariner bar a short walk from the site that boast some lovely river views. There is a small ferry service that runs over to Burnham which has a couple of good pubs for lunch and a market day I think on a Wednesday. There is some very good on site freshwater fishing good for introducing the kids to fishing to get them away from there ipads also a RSPB nature reserve a 5 min drive away. There is a lovely play area for the kids to make new friends also Crabbing over the sea wall. There is a downside the main toilet and showers are good but a bit of a walk to get to. I will be back again and again.

Stayed for a single night, just myself and 5 year old son. We only live up the road but for him it's all about the experience rather than the destination. Site is an easy drive but a good distance away from civilisation. It's nicely located for the marina and RSPB reserve, but close enough to the real world that it's easy to pop out and buy anything you may have forgotten to bring. Check in and payment was smooth, reception staff lovely. Got a non-EHU pitch backing on to one of the little streams. Pitch nice and flat and the whole site is well maintained. It's not an enormous site so nothing is too far away for little legs. Main toilet and shower block lovely and clean and the addition of a couple of portable loos in the centre of the site was much appreciated. Small shop on site selling essentials and a few little bits of charming frippery. Playground is great and very popular! We had a wonderful time overall and kiddo is desperate to go back as soon as I have another weekend off work. Looks like they'll be seeing us again next month!

Just want to say a massive thankyou to the lady on reception! She was amazing. We had travelled with my 1 year old for a last minute camping trip and when we arrived the rods were not in the bag for our tent. I thought I would have to drive all the way back to London upset and gutted but the receptionist lent us her tent! We will be returning again very soon as the place is very quiet, beautiful and relaxing. Facilities were lovely. A lady was up at 6am cleaning the loos! We can’t wait to return (with right camping equipment in hand). See you soon and thank you for making our nightmare moment vanish!

This is really quite a gem of a site tucked away where you would not expect it. Lovely well-kept grounds. Went on a busy weekend and felt a bit packed in but had plenty of room for what we needed. Site has nice country and pubs around, and a passenger ferry to Burnham from the marina, runs from ten to five and is £3 per person each way. Would definitely benefit from another toilet/shower block up in touring field. What is there however is clean and well maintained just too far. Site staff pleasant and helpful, as were the managers of the ferry Inn next door run by their daughter and son in law. Pub staff all very nice and food was basic pub fare but good quality and very good portions. I really felt that with some planning both site and pub were real gold mines, however we had a nice stay, will definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Staff friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended this site. Well-kept site, lovely walks along the river, 15 minute walk to the yacht club, ferry boat to Burnham on Crouch. Looking forward to returning.

When we arrived we visited reception and shown around and were able to pick our own pitch from the tent field. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Shop was well stocked with food not to have to visit a store. Lovely duck pond and river to fish in. Lovely walk to marina and local pub with homemade food which is really tasty. Toilets and showers very clean although only two showers in each block, although no-one in there whenever we went to use them. Only went from Friday to Monday so will definitely go for a week next time.

Our first trip to get to grips with caravanning, ideal place. A few bendy bits on roads but fine. Lovely feel, a couple of touring fields, a tent field, static areas. Small play area for children. Set by a creek (so be careful if you have children) with roaming swans, ducks, moorhens, etc. Nice toilet/shower blocks. Friendly and helpful staff, little shop in reception. Pub just outside of site. We went when they had a rock and roll evening which was fun! Nearby little villages with pubs. Also nearby is a marina with a bar and restaurant. You can catch a boat over the river to Burnham. Would recommend this site, it was only 10 miles away from where we live but it felt like a million miles away.

Beautiful campsite. Busy but peaceful. We only live 10 miles drive but we could be anywhere in the country. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to relax.
Stephen on UK Campsite
We were given a warm welcome when we checked into this picturesque campsite. The facilities were kept very clean and serviced. The toilet and washing up facilities on the touring field were very useful particularly in the night. Whilst only having two showers in the men and women’s toilet block my wife and I never found this a problem, but we are early risers. We soon got used to the planes approaching Southend Airport. There is a community bus service from the site to Southend on Sea twice a week at a reasonable cost and senior citizens can use their bus passes, although the journey does take quite a long route through the local villages. It was a shame that the adjoining pub has closed, but the Marina Bar at Essex Marina, was reached by a pleasant walk along the sea wall. However, although this bar is open every day, it only opens in the evening at weekends. The bar serves coffee, food and alcoholic drinks.
Jocelyn on UK Campsite
Very pretty site next to the river estuary with good wide bank to walk along (grass kept short and neat) which provided us with a very pleasant walk to the bar at the marina. Well laid out site with excellent toilet, shower block and laundry in the centre. Portable loos provided much closer to touring site. Was very windy when we were there and could have done with more shelter but overall an excellent site. We would use it again.

Lovely site, playground is very good for the kids, lovely area to explore the river. Note to take mosquito sprays as you are surrounded by water. Great amenities, friendly staff and visitors, onsite shop great value. Would definitely go back!

Having lived in nearby Canewdon, we knew the area quite well. Now in the West Country, we came back for a family visit, and this was the only campsite to meet our requirements in the Southend area. We were impressed with the layout, the pitch space and the facilities. The site was nice and peaceful, clean and tidy, and we with the dog enjoyed the riverside walks. Shame we didn't have time to enjoy the on-site fishing. Although sited a bit in the sticks we had no problems getting a taxi into nearby Rochford and back during the evening.
Will on UK Campsite
We loved the atmosphere of this site, it was very friendly and a true holiday atmosphere. The swans and ducks had young whilst we were there and were delightful to watch. We enjoyed the walk to the marina through a gate directly from the site. The hot showers and electric hook up were included in the pitch fee, there was a small shop on site. It caters for all units statics, tourers, vans and tents. A lovely quiet site away from it all.
Charro on UK Campsite
The owner was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. It was a last minute booking as I had no electric in my van and the owner made space for me, even moving his own van so I could stay. I have 2 dogs who were happy there. There was no noise, beautiful garden. Each pitch had a picnic table and garden area. I will defo be staying again.
Dudley on UK Campsite
Lovely location and some nice walks along the river with views over to Burnham on Crouch. Choice between decent portable loos on caravan and camping area or better spacious toilet and shower block. Flat rural roads to nearest pub or further to Rochford but narrow in places. We used taxis. Friendly efficient reception.
Michael on UK Campsite
Got to site just as office was closing but this didn't affect the friendliness or efficiency with which our arrival was dealt with. We found site ideal base for touring around the Southend-on-Sea area of Essex. The site was well kept, pitches clearly marked with plenty of space between each offering privacy and quietness.
Craig on UK Campsite
I thought this camp site was very good. We stayed in a tent for Friday and Saturday night. The site was fully booked, but we had ample of space. The setting in very pleasant and relaxing. Myself and my four year old son went for a shower before bedtime at around 8pm and although there are only 2 shower units, there was no one there. Basic shower block and washing up facilities, bur again I thought everything was good and it was always clean. Very pleasant.

Whoever looks after the toilet and washing blocks needs a pat on their back. As they are some of the cleanest ever come across. Very well done. Rest of the site also well looked after. A very peaceful site, great fishing lake, dog friendly, with some lovely walks.

Great campsite in a lovely quiet and pretty location. The toilet and shower and facilities were fantastic and always clean. Lovely little walks close by and a short drive to Southend.

We've stayed twice now lovely peaceful site right on the river and beside the Marina where the kids enjoyed crabbing. The main toilet/shower block is a trek from the camping fields but they do have porta loos.

Clean and tidy, peaceful lovely river views, plenty of wildlife, toilet and shower facilities excellent, shop on site for all bits n bobs you left behind. Come and visit your love it. I’ve give it five stars because there is no entertainment or bar facilities. Lovely chill out zone, who needs drunks and loud music, not me thank you very much.
